Hello, all. It’s snowing here in Northern California, but the sun broke through the clouds and I’m now being treated to that lovely sight of snowflakes shimmering in the air as they drift to earth. My backyard will turn sloppy soon, but for now, a magical blanket of pure white beauty covers my world. Life is good.
So . . . weather aside, here’s my news about my latest transition: I’m excited to announce I’ve signed on as an editor at DEAD SEXY, the romantic suspense imprint of Entangled Publishing, LLC. What a delicious opportunity for someone who adores mayhem, suspense, intrigue, romance, romance, romance, and more romance! I can credit author Kathleen E. Woodiwiss for turning me into a romance reader way back when I was in the eighth grade. I remember huddling under the covers with a flashlight long after my bedtime, desperate to finish Shanna. I equally credit the fabulous Agatha Christie and Dorothy L. Sayers for pulling me into mystery and suspense when I was in graduate school, far from home and my family, with books my company. Romantic suspense gives me that lovely, heady blend of those two fascinating genres.
The sun disappeared and the snow started again as I wrote this post. Now the world’s back to white and grey. The Internet and electricity continue their warning flickers. If I do lose power, this seems to be the perfect afternoon to light a candle and cuddle up in front of the fire with the cat and a good romantic suspense. Happy reading and happy writing, everyone.
**FYI–this post was supposed to go out yesterday, but yep, that snow cut off my electricity!
